Giving to God not only changes other people’s lives, it also changes our own. 

Throughout Scripture, followers of Jesus are called to give faithfully to God. In Malachi 3:10, God tells us to bring our “tithe” to Him, and in 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, the Bible describes the exponential impact of a cheerful giver. 

A “tithe” simply means a tenth, or the first 10% of a person’s income, 

that we give to God through our local church.

When we tithe, we are worshipping God in a tangible way by putting Him first in our lives (and in our finances) and trusting Him to keep His promise to provide for us. Simply put, tithing trains us to trust Him and it exhibits our trust in Him. 

Not only does tithing develop our faith, it also helps us to become more like Jesus. When we give, we reflect the generosity of the One who gives us all good things, including His own life for our salvation.

By giving to God through First LG, we make an impact as we help create more opportunities for people to experience the saving message of Jesus Christ, and we make a tangible difference in our church, our community, and our world.
