DISCOVERY COURSE

Our Discovery Course is a four-part series designed to help you engage at First LG, grow in your relationship with Jesus, find your unique purpose, and thrive in every area of your life. 

 

Each Discovery Session explores foundational concepts and explains First LG’s simple, yet strategic, pathway for growth, connection, development, and impact.

Discover

Session 1

This session examines the foundation for your journey with Jesus and answers questions like: What do we believe? Where are we going? How are we going to get there? You’ll discover many engaging opportunities to get involved at First LG, and you will have a chance to ask questions.

Develop

Session 2

This session teaches essential disciplines every Christian needs to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus. Some of the things you will learn include: how to read and study the Bible for yourself, how to effectively pray, and how to live in Biblical community.

Deepen

Session 3

This session helps you learn about the purpose and mission God has given each believer, and the personal mission He has for you. Using valuable tools and Biblical principles, you will discover your unique design and ways you can use your God given gifts, talents, passions, and experiences to make an impact with your life.

Duplicate

Session 4

This in-depth session provides valuable insight and Scriptural truth that will help you reflect Jesus and maximize your personal impact. We will look at specific Biblical leadership principles that will help you expand your capacity to lead and that will influence every area of your life. This is where you will be equipped to help others discover, develop, and deepen their walk with Jesus.

Life groups

We were not created to live life alone! In fact, God intends for our lives to be so transformed, dynamic, and impactful that we cannot fully be who we were meant to be apart from the love and support of other Christians.

 

Throughout the New Testament, followers of Jesus knew that community was vital for growth and impact. They met in each other’s homes, they shared their lives, and they encouraged, challenged, and supported one another. They were all about becoming like Jesus and helping others know Him.

 

We all need a place we can be real, belong, and form meaningful friendships rooted in the love and grace of Jesus. But today, healthy, authentic relationships and true Biblical community are getting harder to find.

 

That is why LifeGroups are an essential part of First LG! Not only are they integral in developing our relationship with Jesus, they give us an opportunity to find people we love sharing life with. This is where we find a group of people who want to know and live for Jesus, and who want to support us, cheer us on, and encourage us to live the life we were made to live. This is also where we will do the same for them!

 

LifeGroups meet weekly in homes or other comfortable environments where we can relax, connect, and intentionally share our lives with others. Each Lifegroup provides a place to:

  • Explore the Bible with others
  • Apply life-changing Truth from God’s Word
  • Share experiences and have meaningful conversations
  • Pray for one another
  • Build authentic friendships
  • Support one another in good times and bad
  • Invite friends who don’t know Jesus yet

LifeGroups meet throughout the week at various locations in the Spring and Fall semesters. We have Co-ed’s, Men’s, and Women’s groups.

SERVE

The church has been given the most incredible mission the world has ever known... to share the Good News of Jesus that transforms lives and changes the destinies of men, women, boys, and girls. When you serve at First LG, you play an integral role in that mission. Truly, we can't do it without you!

 

One of the best ways to grow in our faith and connect in community is when we serve the Lord and love others together. When we serve according to our gifts and strengths, the church is strengthened, our mission is advanced, deep friendships are forged, and we are fulfilled.

 

In fact, when the church serves together, God uses our individual gifts to do exponentially more than any of us can do on our own.
